Mediterranean Anyone?

With summer here and travel on many of our schedules…I figured we’d go International. 🙂

Have you heard of the Mediterranean diet?

It’s the diet plan that cardiologists are recommending to the patients at risk for heart disease and for those who already have problems. There’s a great deal of information in The Complete Mediterranean Diet, but it’s presented in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand manner.

Dr. Michael Ozner wrote The Complete Mediterranean Diet after becoming a top advocate of preventing heart disease. He’s a cardiologist and national speaker on the topic of how to treat and prevent heart attacks and strokes.

Reports of obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and high cholesterol have been connected to the way we eat in a straightforward, scientific way. But, those who live around the Mediterranean Sea and enjoy a life of fresh and wholesome foods don’t have the same problems others do.

The Complete Mediterranean Diet is a treasure trove of information you need to understand and begin a Mediterranean style of diet. Besides the helpful and guiding information, you’ll also get 500 mouth-watering recipes to choose from.

Weight loss occurs naturally on this diet plan and you’ll begin to notice the belly fat that wouldn’t budge is gradually melting away. That’s because this diet plan burns fat and builds muscle that’s so necessary to fight obesity.

This book will help you piece together the reasons why your current diet isn’t working and how the Mediterranean lifestyle will lower your risk of diseases, help you lose weight and put you on the path to the health and vitality you’ve been missing.

A 14-day meal plan is included for your convenience in beginning the diet plan and you’ll also get a guide to the terminology used that may be different than what you’re used to.

Recipes in the book include tasty meals such as Pizza Margherita and Spicy Vegetable Stew. There are also desserts such as Drunken Strawberries and Honey Nests made with Angel Hair Pasta.

Pay close attention to the appendices in The Complete Mediterranean Diet. They contain highly useful information that includes the Atherogenic Metabolic Stew, a concoction that will help to jumpstart your metabolism and burn fat.

There is also an appendix on medications to prevent heart disease. Sometimes diet doesn’t solve all the problems associated with heart issues and the medications that Dr. Ozner recommends are the best of the best to keep your heart healthy.

Other appendices include tips on how to shop for, prepare and dine on the recipes for the Mediterranean diet and how to make the best choices when dining out. Nothing is missing from The Complete Mediterranean Diet that you need to enjoy this tremendously healthy lifestyle.

That’s why The Complete Mediterranean Diet and the information it provides is worth the time and effort to look in to and possibly adapt to your own lifestyle. You don’t have to live on the shores of the Mediterranean to benefit from its healthy way of life.

  1. They are coming out and saying now that there were some faults in the Mediterranean diet studies. Whatever the small imperfections might be, I know the health benefits are real.
I could not get enough of Greek food when I went on vacation yeaaaaaars ago, before those studies came out. I knew right there and then that the food was good and healthy.

I did a little research on the Mediterranean diet and am going to combine it with a low-carb diet. I prefer to customize my diet by using common sense and paying attention to the amount of fat, protein and carbs I’m putting into my body. Basically, weight loss happens when the number of calories burned off by the body’s metabolism exceed the number of calories consumed. Easy-Peasy!

  3. Well, so without actually realizing it, I’ve been following an almost-Mediterranean diet for years! It’s just how we would always eat in my family of origin – so it always seemed pretty natural to me and I never really gave it any second thought until realizing it’s actually very different than how most people I know would eat. I still didn’t change much – it just made me feel so great that I never felt the urge to. Anyway, I then went vegan, but to be honest, things didn’t really change that much either – what people don’t usually realize is that Mediterranean diet leaves plenty of choices even for fully plant-based eaters and that’s why I love it so much!

  4. Thank you for the post! Cuisine from the Mediterranean is so delicious. It’s great that someone has condensed it into a heart-healthy cookbook. The food reflects the lifestyle, which is so much more relaxed than ours in the U.S. Another reason why they don’t have the same health issues as we do. It would be great to incorporate some of that culture into our busy lifestyles.

  5. Since living in the middle of Europe I know the Mediterranean kitchen very well and I love it. I think it is not only their diet, but also their way of living that makes them some of the healthiest and longest living humans on the planet. Thank you so much for dropping by my blog and your follow! I appreciate it.
